Further to our ASC recognition, John Cockburn and Kym Mahon recently travelled to Canberra to meet with the ASC managers responsible for assisting Muaythai.

Subject to the current review of all sports and funding priorities, we are hopeful that we will soon be in a position to have our coaching education courses run through the Commission's coaching accreditation scheme. Have a watch of the video to learn more.

Sunday, 17 May 2009

reporter.jpgThe people of Darwin all seemd to be having a good time getting their 1st taste of Muaythai  - Arafura style.

Certainly our teams were all enjoying themselves.

So what did the journalists think of Muaythai's entry into the Arafuras ?

We caught up with  Mr Charlie King, long time senior sports journalist with Darwin ABC Radio and the NT News Sports Reporter for their assessment.

Watch the videos for their thoughts and some more interviews with our overseas teams.

Welcome To The Oceania MuayThai Federation Website

The Oceania Federation of the World Muaythai Council ("WMC") has been given the task by the WMC of representing the sport of Muaythai in Australia, New Zealand and our surrounding island neighbours.

Currently, there are over 100 member nations of the WMC.

The Oceania Federation is a "not for profit" association. Our aim is to support the sport of Muaythai whilst maintaining stringent standards to ensure participant safety.

International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) is now a member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF).  GAISF membership means IFMA and the WMC are regarded by the rest of the sporting world including FIFA, FINA and the IRB as the sole world governing body for the sport of Muaythai.

Trainers like 'Nugget' McNaught, Joe Hilton, Mark Pease, Alan Wong, Tony Favuzzi, Peter Boyd and Wayne Parr are part of the WMC because they know the WMC wants only the best for the sport.

If you want to be trained or you want your trainer to find fights for you please contact our trainers.
